Robin Metcalf

After many years in the fields of education and counseling, upon retirement, Robin was able to realize her dream of becoming a full time resident of Ocracoke. After forty years of visiting the island and living here on a part time basis for twenty years, Robin became more and more committed to increasing opportunities for children and families while still preserving the true spirit and nature of the island.  Robin's lifetime commitment to learning, wellness and mental health led her to a board position on the OCPA where she serves on the grant committee while assisting other committees, especially fundraising.

Robin and her husband are both involved in other volunteer efforts on the island and hope to be part of the preservation of the island for many years to come.

Robin is especially interested in the mental health of all Ocracoke residents and introducing the mental health benefits of water exercise and swimming to the children of the island while teaching them to swim for their safety.
